J. Brett Brinson is a highly regarded name in family law in Savannah and surrounding areas. He helps families navigate oftentimes complicated divorce, child custody, and child support matters. Brett works exclusively in all areas of family law including both contested and uncontested divorces, child custody and child support issues, legitimation, alimony, mediation, settlement agreements, and both prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. Brett clerked for the District Attorney’s Office for the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit in 2013 and for April R. Stafford of Stafford Law Group, LLC from 2013 to 2014. Brett also clerked for Josh D. Tucker from 2014 to 2015 when Brett passed the Georgia Bar. Since September 26, 2016, Brett has practiced law at The Schachter Law Firm, LLC.

During his practice, Brett has gained a reputation as the appeal guru and has authored and co-authored several appeals including Leone v. Griffin, 342 Ga. App. 474, 803 S.E.2d 617 (2017) and others.

Brett is originally from Collins, Georgia and graduated from Tattnall County High School in 2007 with honors. He graduated with his Bachelor’s of Arts in History from Georgia Southern University in 2010 Magna Cum Laude and graduated from Mercer Law School in May 2014. When he’s not practicing law, you will find him doting on his beautiful bride, his beautiful daughter, and handsome son. They reside in Brooklet, Georgia.
