Annulment
An annulment in the State of Georgia means that a marriage is not legally valid. Annulments are not available in divorce cases if children were born during the marriage. Some reasons for annulments are bigamy, marriages entered into prior to a party having reached the legal age of consent, incest, a party’s inability to contract to the marriage, etc. While annulments in Georgia are rare, the divorce lawyers at The Schachter Law Firm, LLC have represented clients in annulment cases.
